Competition Terms & Conditions

  1. The Promoter
    • The promoter is: Next Top Dog Limited (“BNTD”, “we” or “us”) of Thwaites, Lodge Road, Easton, Norwich, NR9 5EL.
  2. The competition
    • The title of the competition is Britain’s Next Top Dog 2021.
    • All competition entries are to be entered into one of the following six categories: (1) Puppy Dog; (2) Off-road Dog; (3) Urban Dog; (4) Playful Dog; (5) Pampered Dog; (6) Working Dog. The winner of each category will be selected by the judging panel from a shortlist provided by the BNTD selection committee. The decisions of BNTD and the panel of eight judges (acting reasonably) will be final. Each entry will be judged on the following criteria:
      1. Quality and composition of the photograph;
      2. Relevance to category;
      3. The strength of the supporting story;

The winner of each category will be entered into the public vote to decide the competition winner. The entry that receives the highest number of votes will be declared the winner. In the event of a draw, the final decision will be made by the judging panel. The decision of the panel of judges (acting reasonably) will be final.

  1. How to enter
    • The competition entry period will run from 09.00am on 15th May 2021 (the “Opening Date“) to 11.59pm on 12th June 2021 (the “Closing Date“) inclusive.
    • All competition entries must be received by the Promoter by no later than 11.59pm on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified and no refund will be provided.
    • To enter the competition:
      1. Enter the competition online by completing the online entry process provided on www.britainsnexttopdog.com by Closing Date.
    • The Promoter will not accept:
      1. responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
      2. proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.
    • By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

  2. Eligibility
    • The competition is only open to all residents in the UK, except:
      1. employees of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies;
      2. employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
      3. members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.
    • In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
    • If you are under the age of 18, you must obtain written parental or guardian consent to enter and claim your prize. The Promoter may ask the winner to provide proof of age
    • The Promoter will not accept competition entries that are:
      1. automatically generated by computer;
      2. completed by third parties or in bulk;
      3. illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with;
      4. photocopies and not originals; or
      5.  
    • The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct or entry is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.
    • Competition entries cannot be returned.
  3. The prize
    • The category winner prizes are:

    • The Top Dog competition winner prizes are:
      1. A choice of a either Samsung Galaxy S21 5G 256GB 5G smartphone OR an Apple iPhone 12Pro 5G 256GB smartphone x 1
      2. Mous smartphone case and accessories bundle x 1. Bundle to include: Phone case, tempered glass screen protector, wireless charger and car vent charger.
      3. Barefoot retreats weekend break x 1 (ref. 5.3 & 5.4)
      4. Emma Bridgewater Trophy Bowl x 1
    • The holiday is provided by Barefoot Retreats.
    • The holiday is for 8 people (accommodation only) at Pond House, Burnham Market, Norfolk for 4 nights Monday to Friday OR 3 nights Friday to Monday between January to March or October to December 2022 (excluding school holidays). The prize does not include travel insurance, the cost of transfers to and from airports or stations, food and drink, spending money, tax or personal expenses. Any other costs incurred in addition to those set out above and that are incidental to the fulfilment of the prize are the responsibility of the winner(s).
    • Prizes are subject to availability. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
    • The prize is not negotiable or transferable.
  4. Winners
    • The decision of the judges nominated by the Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
    • The Promoter will contact the winner personally as soon as practicable after the Announcement Date, using the telephone number or email address provided with the competition entry. The Promoter will not amend any contact information once the competition entry form has been submitted.
    • The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will publish the surname and county or town of the category and overall prize winners and their winning entries on the Promotor’s website and any other media on 27th June 2021.
    • If you object to any or all of your surname, county or town and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Promoter by email at info@britainsnexttopdog.com. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
  5. Claiming the prize
    • Please allow ninety days for delivery of the prizes. The Promoter will contact the winners to confirm the delivery time. Prizes will be delivered to the address provided on the competition entry form.
    • The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
    • The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed their prize within thirty days of the Announcement Date, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.
    • The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.
  6. Limitation of liability
    • Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
  7. Ownership of competition entries and intellectual property rights
    • All competition entries and any accompanying material submitted to the Promoter will become the property of the Promoter on receipt and will not be returned.
    • By submitting your competition entry and any accompanying material, you agree to:
      1. assign to the Promoter all your intellectual property rights with full title guarantee; and
      2. waive all moral rights,

in and to your competition entry and otherwise arising in connection with your entry to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.

  • You agree not to claim any rights of ownership in your competition entry and any accompanying material submitted and thereby agree that the Promoter may, but is not required to, make your entry available on its website www.britainsnexttopdog.com and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You further agree that the Promoter is able to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry and any accompanying materials for such purposes.
  1. Data protection and publicity
    • The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in the Privacy Policy. See also condition 3 and condition 6.4, with regard to the announcement of winners.
  2. General
    • If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
    • The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
    • These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
